Pocket Boar

'Pocket Boar' reimagines Derby Arboretum Park's statue of the Florentine Boar as a virtual pet. 

You've brought the statue to life! It's jumped off its plinth and wants to be your friend. It's your job to take care of now animate Florentine Boar - you are able to feed, play and interact with it. Make sure it gets enough food, play and sleep, or it will turn back into a statue!

Pocket Boar was made during an artist residency at Derby Arboretum Park in November 2023. The work's content was developed during participatory workshops with local families and residents.
